The innovative Future Soldier Program, inaugurated on July 10, 2024, promises to redefine access to educational pathways and Army service, regardless of a recruit’s high school diploma status.

This pioneering program facilitates GED attainment through PAC at any of San Antonio's five Army recruiting stations. Participants undergo an intensive eight-week training regimen led by active Drill Sergeants and experienced Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs). Tailored educational plans, aligned with their chosen Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), prepare recruits comprehensively for their military careers.

Dr. Robert Garcia, President of Palo Alto College, underscored the program's transformative impact, stating, "We are proud to launch this groundbreaking GED partnership with the U.S. Army, setting an example for institutions nationwide in supporting military students and families. This initiative not only opens doors to military service but also empowers our community with vital educational opportunities. It's an honor to lead by example in this crucial endeavor."

This collaboration between Palo Alto College and The Army signifies a landmark effort in educational access and military readiness, promising to set new standards for career preparation in Military City San Antonio.
